Gator in his den

He was nicely curled up under there until I came out with the camera.  Not sure if it is cooler, or he is hiding?

The hole under the bush is fully Gator sized – that’s evidence of animals digging for you, lawn service guys!

Otis, an 8 year old 106 lb. lab/Dane mix, became a Tripawd on February 9, 2016 after his right front leg broke due to osteosarcoma. We did 4 rounds of carboplatin, but lung mets were discovered on Agust 25, and he passed on September 4. Otis was half of a bonded pair, and his adopted sister Tess, passed suddenly of hemangiosarcoma on October 9. The day before Tess passed, a local lab rescue group had identfied Gator, a 120 pound 6 year old yellow in need of a home, as a potential companion for her. His picture was on my phone, and my house needed a dog. . .

  1. Awww Gator. I bet its cooler under there. It’s hot here. Mine are in front of fans even with the ac running.

  2. Look at that Gator hunkered down in his sweet spot! Yup I’m sure it’s cooler in there for him. Maybe that’s what puppy Hank is trying to do everywhere in the dog pen when left alone with just Riley for even a minute? One would be ok but 12 dens is a bit over the top…..sigh

  3. WOW GATOR, that is the perfect nest!! Don’t need no stinkin’ cooling mat, not for this clever DIY Gardner!!

I love his smilin’ face. Actually, I love EVERYTHING about Gator!! 🙂

And yes, dogs have quite the knack for moving exsctly when you snap the picture!

Did Otis and Tess have cool nest spots in the yard?

    Hugs!
