Otis's Photos – Otis and Tess

A post only this community will understand. . .

I was feeling very down, lonely and overwhelmed last night – thinking about Otis and Tess, my Mom’s death of cancer in her 50’s, and mortality in general.  This morning, I found this inside my bedroom, right in the middle of the floor.  For those who don’t recall, Gator is very yellow.

This is clearly not yellow. . .

Only in this community is a clump of dog hair meaningful.

A happy dog,

Otis used to do this all of the time, and it was a sure sign for me that he was happy.  I loved seeing him upside down as a fairly new tripawd.  So seeing Gator start to do it more and more is really great!

Gator – not the most flattering shot, but he is not yet comfortable enough to stay upside down if he senses that I am trying to take a picture.

Otis, week three or so post-amp. See the family resemblence?

How handsome!   (When he is clean and not covered in mud from chasing critters)

Look at the dates – this has got to be my Gator!

My daughter gave me her Facebook sign-in, so I have been trolling Tennessee rescue pages circa 2 years ago.  The key is whether “4 year old” Gator was two years ago and is 6 year old Gator today.  Just look at the dates!  And he does look happy with the foster mom in the ‘foster fail’ adoption post.  This is my Gator!

They look happy. And if she was a foster mom, she wouldn’t have given him up casually.

Same photo, but dated!

Another Gator? Or am I home #3?

Found this post on the internet, from the same town where my Gator is from.  And no, that is not me in the picture.  Could I be his third home?

Sure looks like my dog. . .
