Otis’ Two Month Ampuversary!

We made it to two months!   Amazing how much has happened in that time.   We went from round the clock meds and me being a total mess afraid to leave him for even a minute, to chasing cats, going up and down stairs, and hopping around at will.  Our walks are still only 7 houses, with a long break at about house 5, but in truth, the weather has been so bad it has limited our ability to go out.  I am so thankful that he is still with me, and so thankful to this community for the support!

Otis and Tess spend lots of time in the sun.

Midway through our walk - he seems to enjoy looking around and sniffing the air.

Otis, Tess and Enzo, and yes, I am supposed to sleep somewhere in there.

Otis, an 8 year old 106 lb. lab/Dane mix, became a Tripawd on February 9, 2016 after his right front leg broke due to osteosarcoma. We did 4 rounds of carboplatin, but lung mets were discovered on Agust 25, and he passed on September 4. Otis was half of a bonded pair, and his adopted sister Tess, passed suddenly of hemangiosarcoma on October 9. The day before Tess passed, a local lab rescue group had identfied Gator, a 120 pound 6 year old yellow in need of a home, as a potential companion for her. His picture was on my phone, and my house needed a dog. . .

  1. Way to go, Otis! It will only get better from here.

Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel…and the Labradork

  2. HAPPY AMPUVERSARY OTIS!!! WOW!!! Great job everybody!! 🙂

And these pictures are just delightful! Imlpve the “sleeping” arrangements! Mom sleeps like a contorted pretzel and the crew is just as comy as can be!

Otis is such a handsome boy! And Tess is a beautiful girl!

I think it’s wonderful Otis finds his walks to be ablut just relaxing and enjoying everything the “walk” has to offer…the scents and sou ds of nature, the beauty of just being together with you. You ought to take a little portable chair and just chill with him.

Thank you for letting us celebrate with you today! You brighten our day always!!

Cake and ice cream for everyone! 🙂

    Love to all!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

  3. Hoppy Ampuversary Otis!! Whoo hoo!! Doesn’t it feel great? I wonder if you change up his walk if that would help? I know you said before that in the morning you’re limited because you’re trying to get to work. But what about after work? What if you went a different way, or out the back door or in the car first for a block and just start in a different place and see what he does? Just a thought 🙂 Keep up the good work!
