Look at the dates – this has got to be my Gator!

My daughter gave me her Facebook sign-in, so I have been trolling Tennessee rescue pages circa 2 years ago.  The key is whether “4 year old” Gator was two years ago and is 6 year old Gator today.  Just look at the dates!  And he does look happy with the foster mom in the ‘foster fail’ adoption post.  This is my Gator!

They look happy. And if she was a foster mom, she wouldn’t have given him up casually.

Same photo, but dated!

Otis, an 8 year old 106 lb. lab/Dane mix, became a Tripawd on February 9, 2016 after his right front leg broke due to osteosarcoma. We did 4 rounds of carboplatin, but lung mets were discovered on Agust 25, and he passed on September 4. Otis was half of a bonded pair, and his adopted sister Tess, passed suddenly of hemangiosarcoma on October 9. The day before Tess passed, a local lab rescue group had identfied Gator, a 120 pound 6 year old yellow in need of a home, as a potential companion for her. His picture was on my phone, and my house needed a dog. . .

  1. Wow. It sure DOES look like him…so you think he was adopted and then turned in to another rescue and then you got him? I can’t even imagine why anyone would have given him up in the first place… He’s so sweet.

  2. Am I reading it right? The middle picture says he was 5 in Oct 2014, but your adoption site says he was 4 in 2016? I wonder how old your gorgeous Gator is and he sure seems to have been on a few travels to find you! I’m sure he thinks it was all worth it to find the wonderful home he has x

    1. The vet packet that came with him makes him 6 last October, so who really knows. Actually, I have only once in my life had an animal with a known birthday.
