Otis, an 8 year old 106 lb. lab/Dane mix, became a Tripawd on February 9, 2016 after his right front leg broke due to osteosarcoma. We did 4 rounds of carboplatin, but lung mets were discovered on Agust 25, and he passed on September 4. Otis was half of a bonded pair, and his adopted sister Tess, passed suddenly of hemangiosarcoma on October 9. The day before Tess passed, a local lab rescue group had identfied Gator, a 120 pound 6 year old yellow in need of a home, as a potential companion for her. His picture was on my phone, and my house needed a dog. . . View all posts by otisandtess
Oh Christine. There are no words. Hugs to Otis from us. I’ll buy him more cheeseburgers next month ♡

Otis. You can fight those mets. You and my baby Bandit can fight them together.
Christine! My dear. You just gotta live in the moment with Otis. Take selfies and videos. Sometimes I sit and watch videos of my Buddy boy. Sometimes it really helps. Nothing can prepare you for this but you just gotta be more dog. We love you guys.

That picture is ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS!!! The love….the connection….the happiness….just beautiful!
The video reinforces that Otis is feeling just great 🙂 and that’s all you need to focus on! Do not waste one second of your time worrying about the tomorrows…today is all we have, so don’t waste it. And I know you won’t! Otis sure isn’t!
More videos of cheeseburger dinners to follow, right?
Hugs and love

Christine, my heart surely hurts to hear about the x-rays, but that video and the selfie make my heart soar. Otis is a happy boy – unconcerned about those x-rays. Cause his Mama loves him and bought him cheeseburgers.
Here’s to many, many, many more cheeseburgers.
Love,
Lisa and Pofi
Thanks everyone for your love and support! It is truly appreciated!
Love the pictures. My vet emailed me Sassy’s actual xrays and I saved them to my computer still have them and I think they are posted on here some where too.
I am glad Otis loved his cheeseburgers and fries
hugs

Oh Christine my heart hurts for you. You know what you have to do. One day at a time and live to the fullest each day, love to the max each day, and make wonderful memories each day. Otis will continue to teach you how each day. Hugs to you and your daughter and always Otis & Tess too.
That’s a lovely, lovely picture of a very special connection. Hugs to you both.

Christine, my heart is breaking for you with regards to Otis. Enjoy every single moment with him. We are fighting with our girl, Cayenne right now (front leg ampu due to OS) but we recently lost our beautiful golden retriever lady, Sequoia to malignant melanoma (rare-laryngeal) in late July just after the OS diagnosis with Cay. Sequoia loved cheeseburgers too, just like Otis, but her favorite was rotisserie chicken so you got it as often as possible. Otis is a beautiful boy and you can tell he is happy with his mom! Hugs to you and your family and more cheeseburgers for Otis!
